PSHE and RSE
PSHE Rationale
We want our children to grow up as responsible, kind, caring, independent, mindful people who have a positive role to play in society. We want them to embody our core values of Kindness, Perseverance, Community, Creativity and Happiness. The PSHE curriculum has been carefully crafted to ensure children develop their social capital. We want our children to remember their PSHE lessons and that they provide knowledge, opportunities to think, discuss and reflect and a time to ask questions in a safe and nurturing environment. PSHE sessions run in conjunctions with the RSE syllabus. We want our children to grow up as responsible, kind, caring, independent, mindful people who have a positive role to play in society. Our PSHE curriculum is crafted on 2-week themes for a whole school focus.
We also run the My Happy Mind Scheme which is a complete mental and emotional wellbeing package for Primary Schools. We deliver this every week in conjunction with the PSHE curriculum.

Physical Education
PE Rationale
At Coberley we want our children to love physical education and sport. We want them to have no limits to what their ambitions are and grow up wanting to be personal trainers, nutritionists, sports journalist or gold medal winners. The PE curriculum has been carefully crafted so that our children to remember their PE lessons in our school, to cherish these memories and embrace the opportunities they are presented with. We want to extend PE into the classroom with a focus on nutrition, well-being and lifestyle and we want to provide opportunities to have active lifestyle.
We have 2 hours of PE every week, we swim from Reception at Cirencester Swimming Pool, we have an amazing residential every year from Year 4, we have a morning run every Friday cross country, we play competitive sport against other schools, we mostly play for outside clubs, we have sporting house competitions, we learn about health, nutrition and the benefits of exercise. We are active!
