Science Rationale
At Coberley we want our children to love science. We want them to have no limits to what their ambitions are and grow up wanting to be astronauts, forensic scientists, toxicologists or microbiologists. We want them to embody our core values. The science curriculum has been carefully crafted to enable to be exciting and challenging and work within the parameters of our class structure and the National Curriculum. Science Curriculum Milestones
Developing Experts
We use Developing Experts throughout the school to teach a comprehensive science curriculum with a focus on vocabulary, scientific enquiry and experiments. The scheme allows the children to log in from their tablets or a computer at home and revisit lesson, take part in assessments, rocket word quizzes and word searches.It allows children to become scientists!

Geography Rationale

The geography curriculum has been carefully crafted so that our children develop their geographical capital with a focus on local and world wide geography. We want our children to remember their geography lessons in our school, to cherish these memories and embrace the geographic opportunities they are presented with.

Religious Education
Religious Education Rationale
The purpose of learning Religious Education is to have a thorough understanding of Christianity and other world religions and have an understanding about beliefs, customs and rituals living in multi- cultural Britain. Since we are a Church School, children will be predominantly taught Christianity, using the Bible narrative. Children will then explore how Christians make sense of the bible and the ramifications upon modern living.

Computing
Computing Rationale
We want our children to love computing. We want them to have no limits to what their ambitions are and grow up wanting to become software engineers, video game designers, web developers, IT consultants or be pioneers for future technology. We want them to embody our core values. The computing curriculum has been carefully crafted so that our children develop their digital capital. We want our children to remember their computing lessons in our school, to cherish these memories and embrace the opportunities they are presented with!
