Our Governing Body is made up of 10 Governors, who are all volunteers, committed to giving our children the best education they can. The Governors bring a variety of skills and backgrounds to help make decisions about our school, and how it works best to benefit our children. 

The Full Governing Body meets six times a year. The core functions of the governing body include, but are not limited to, ensuring:

• that the vision, ethos and strategic direction of the school are clearly defined
• that the headteacher performs their responsibilities for the educational performance of the school
• the sound, proper and effective use of the school’s financial resources

Our Governing body is made up of: 

• 2 Parent Governors who are voted in by the parents at the school
• 2 Foundation Governors who are local people appointed by the Church of England
• 1 Staff Governor elected by the staff
• 1 Headteacher
• 1 Local Authority Governor appointed by the Full Governing Body
• 3 Co-opted Governors who are appointed by the Full Governing Body

Our Governors also come into school to help in many different ways. They observe lessons and talk with teachers, oversee building repairs, lead assemblies, talk with parents and offer invaluable advice to the school. They are also responsible for appointing staff.

The Clerk to the Governor ensures that all the paper work is kept up to date and organises any elections or training that is needed.

The Governors are led by the Chairs of Governors. The Co-Chair Governors are Mrs Catherine Smith and Mr Duncan McGaw.
