Our Vision
‘Nurtured, Cherished and Inspired for Fullness of Life’
“I have come that they may have life and have it to the full.”
John 10:10 Church of England
We are a small close-knit community with life in all its fullness at the very heart of everything we do. We provide all our pupils with a range of high-quality enriching experiences. Every unique individual is nurtured, cherished and inspired to be, and to do their very best.
Coberley develops children who are resilient, honest, and courageous. We prepare our children to leave our school as confident, compassionate and respectful global citizens ready for our diverse world.
Our School Logo
Our school vision is detailed in our school logo, using a spectrum of colours to depict all children as individuals and the huge range of opportunities they are given to inspire them at Coberley. The logo is based as a Christian cross in the Cotswolds, by the Seven Springs. The tall tree is the lime tree within our school playground. The butterfly symbolises transformation, hope and new beginnings. These are cradled in God's hand which nurtures and cherishes everyone in our Coberley Community.
Christian Values
At Coberley we have 6 Christian Values which we focus on throughout the year. Each term has a focus value, which is taught and recognised in every learning opportunity, whether it be in our collective worship, during classroom learning or outside during break times. Our vision is shared amongst our community and each term a child from each year group is given a 'Value of the Term' award for demonstrating the relevant value.
The values are:
- Courage - for venturing outside of your comfort zone, challenging yourself and demonstrating bravery and strength throughout this term
- Compassion and Kindness - for being kind, selfless, and always considering the needs of others throughout this term
- Justice - for demonstrating fairness and honesty in all situations, always striving to make sure everyone is treated equally and setting a great example for others
- Resilience - for being able to overcome tricky tasks, successfully adapting to challenging experiences and demonstrating a growth mindset
- Respect - for valuing others, yourself and our school and treating them with kindness and consideration. For listening and accepting other people for who they are.
- Honesty - for choosing to always tell the truth, knowing it is the right thing to do. Your honesty builds trust and strong relationships.
We also celebrate 5 important life values. The values are “awarded” each week to children who have demonstrated them, in the form of a soft toy and certificate each week and celebrated in worship. The values are:
-
Kindness (Patch the Puppy)
-
Perseverance (Percy the Monkey)
-
Happiness (Hamish the Hippo)
-
Creativity (Zara the Zebra)
-
Community (Leafy the Hedgehog)
We value every child equally, and as a school, we want to provide every opportunity, whether it be activity, intervention, enrichment, or nurture, every day. We also pride ourselves on inclusivity and respect. We strive to teach children the importance of protected characteristics.
All children and staff have the right to feel safe at all times in school. There should be mutual respect between staff and children and between each other. All visitors to the school should feel safe and free from the effects of poor behaviour at all times and in all parts of the school.
