Our Computing Curriculum
"We need technology in every classroom and in every student and teacher's hand, because it is the pen and paper of our time, and it is the lens through which we experience much of our world." Steve Jobs
At Coberley, we believe every child should have the opportunity to explore, create, and innovate through technology. Our aim is to inspire young learners to become confident, responsible, and creative users of computers and other digital devices. Our computing curriculum is developed from the National Curriculum and equips pupils to use computational thinking and creativity to understand and change the world.
Through fun, hands-on lessons, children learn how computers work, how to stay safe online, and how to use coding to bring their ideas to life. From identifying types of technology and describing it’s uses in our homes, school and the wider world, to understanding basic algorithms or designing simple programs and games, our curriculum builds curiosity, problem-solving skills, and digital confidence.
We help pupils develop the key computing skills they’ll need for the future — including logical thinking, creativity, and collaboration — while ensuring they understand how to use technology safely and respectfully.
