  • Use inverted commas, commas, semi colons, colons, dashes, hyphens and ellipses
  • Spelling most words correctly (Year 5 & 6)
  • Joined up handwriting

Working at greater depth

  • Managing shifts of formality through selecting vocabulary precisely and by manipulating grammatical structures.
  • Selecting verb forms for meaning and effect
  • Using a full range of punctuation
